Lorikeets

I had a letter from my brother Stephen in Australia today. He sent me four lovely photos that I'm going to post here with snippets of what he said.

We had some very heavy rain last week so we became a nursery for the rainbow lorikeets again as the rain washes the nectar from the trees and they cant eat and the competition for seeds is lost to the bigger varieties. We put out wholemeal bread and sunflower seeds and sugared water, and in no time we have twenty or thirty birds on the balcony. They really are like family with their squabbling and bickering and noise, after a long days dispute and a full belly they settle down and cuddle up and sleep.
