Today Sean and I took Caelyn and family to lunch at the Cat and Custard Pot. Its in Paddlesworth and it borders on the Battle of Britain Museum. The RAF people used it as a canteen and recreational area. There are a lot of wartime photos on the walls and overhead are large model Spitfires. At the front of the pub there is a WW2 bomb, and yet the countryside is so quiet and peaceful.

The food was very good and the atmosphere was relaxed. There were quite a lot of people there but it was quiet - just ordinary families and friends enjoying a good unpretentious roast dinner. When I booked, I said that the children would be coming and we were put in a nice semi-separate area where we didn't have to worry about the kids getting bored or noisy. We were out of the way and it was lovely. I'll post a couple more photos so you can see the inside of the pub.
Wendy told Sean that I could come to her party, but he couldn't unless he promised to be good and behave himself! And there was Sean, thinking he was going to introduce to Wendy the concept of 'being good.'
