Back Online at Last

We have been without a computer for a couple of weeks. It stopped working after an automatic Windows Update. The repairman said he thinks that it was that that caused the trouble. The whole hard drive had to be "wiped" so that Windows could be reinstalled, so I have lost a lot of my settings, content and documents. Luckily I'm a gloomy sort of person who knows Murphy was right when he said "what can go wrong, will go wrong". So I had recently (as I do regularly)copied most of my important stuff onto a DVD AND I had emailed myself some documents from one of my Gmail accounts to another, so a lot of it is on a "virtual" hard drive somewhere in Cyberspace. So it wasn't a great disaster but I have a huge amount of catching up to do and loads of programs and hardware to reinstall.
