The whole rig was sparkling clean and very impressive looking.

The horses - one a 16hh Thoroughbred and the other a 17.2hh Shire Cross looked magnificent in their lovingly cared for tack and brasses. They had been very well groomed and their hooves were oiled and glossy too. They wore blinkers and their groom, a tiny lady, stayed with them all the time. It was a wonderful sight to see. It makes me hope that the person who died had died well and with dignity after a long and happy life.

I took these pics with my mobile phone which is why the quality isn't brilliant but it was something I wanted to remember. I should say that the person they had come to collect was still in the funeral home and there were no relatives nearby. If there had been, I would not have taken photos because it would have been far too disrespectful and insensitive.
May whoever it was who was to be drawn in this carriage through the Mercy of Christ Rest in Peace.
