Is it Fair?

In England, Council Tax has been rising at well over the rate of Inflation. The practical results are that older people on small fixed incomes/pensions have been having to pay proportionally more and more of their income to fund council expenditure at a time when council services are decreasing and becoming ever more inefficient.

Some respectable middle class professionals have elected to be imprisoned rather than pay the demanded council tax. People like retired teachers, social workers, nurses and the like have offered to pay Council Tax plus the officially published rate of inflation, but are refusing to pay more than that. These people have worked and paid into pension plans all their lives and are being impoverished in their old age, partly due to the Government's raid on pension funds. There is a National campaign called www.isitfair.co.uk who are opposing this injustice and I urge you to support them.

Decent people need to support these martyrs for Justice. I am not in their position yet but I feel very strongly against injustice. These people have my full support and admiration for the difficult stand they are taking to benefit us all.
