Bits of News

Michelle
Michelle started work at Saga and is on a very intense training course. When she gets home at night, she is completely wiped out and goes to bed early. She picked up a nasty bug that is doing the rounds - sore throat, sinusitis, headache, tight chest and diarrhoea. She is really unwell and has had to have a course of antibiotics. She is worried about the work she is missing because they only study a product once, so it will be difficult to catch up. I had to help her bath and wash her hair which is most unlike her- she is really weak with this bug. I think she should stay in bed until Sunday lunchtime and see how she is after that. Poor kid!

Josie
Josie is still doing School Assemblies with her church. Today she went out for Christmas lunch. Yesterday though, her heart was out of rhythm from 05h20 to 15h30. Her doctor managed to get an EGC while it was behaving oddly. This arrhythmia makes her feel very tired and unwell. She could have had a pacemaker put in a few years ago but the London hospital was so filthy we decided against it. The woman in the next bed had had an op three weeks previously and it had gone septic. She saw me washing my hands frequently and started a conversation by saying that she had been there for three weeks and that was the first time seen had seen anybody use the basin. Then she pointed out a brown stain under her bed and told us that the night before her surgery she had spilled her cocoa and that is what the sticky brown mess was. No wonder she went septic! And there was no way I was going to allow my mother have a procedure done in such a pigsty. That was OK for a couple of years but now she is having symptoms again, I hope she will have a pacemaker put in next time she goes to South Africa, where we KNOW the hospitals are clean and are staffed by people who understand about handwashing and other hygiene principles.

Caelyn and Co
Caelyn and Wendy have been going to Mother and Toddler groups and she has made some really nice new friends. Unusually, in this particular group, the women are all married. They have coffee and cake, so this week Caelyn thought she would like to take something so she used my cheese puff recipe and took 48 of them to the group. They were such a success that she didn't get even one and she was asked to bring more next week. I might post the recipe on here as it is so easy, tasty, quick and nutritious. She was proud of her success as well she might be.
