Asleep on Auntie Michelle's Lap

Today's photo posts look happy but they don't tell the whole story. Kate and Nigel popped in for a short visit but Wendy wasn't well at all. I think it says a lot about her basic temperament that she could look so happy when feeling so unwell. It didn't last long. When she fell asleep, her parents dashed off to the Supermarket for some basic essentials. They didn't take Wendy because she was asleep and it is bitterly cold and foggy. She slept for a while then woke up wanting her Mum. Michelle tried to distract her but she didn't want to be distracted. She let me soothe her but made it clear that she was only putting up with Gran until her Mum came.

Thank God for mobile phones! I asked Michelle to phone Kate and they finished their shopping sharpish and came back as soon as they could. Wendy wasn't crying when they got back but she was very relieved to see her Mum. If you think about it, wanting your Mum when you are little and not very well is very right and proper. It would be worrying if she couldn't care less, wouldn't it?
