Michelle starts work at Saga on Monday. She is excited and a bit apprehensive. Sean said he would take her to buy a basic work wardrobe as she has dieted so successfully that her old clothes do not fit her any more.
She and I were de-cluttering last night. We broke up a fair bit of collapsing old furniture which Sean will take to the tip over the weekend. We have a fair amount for the Charity shop, and a fair amount of junk to go to the rubbish. We were tired after doing so much so we watched a peaceable and sweet video of Ballykissangel. It was just what we needed.
Caelyn and Wendy went to a Mother and Toddler's group in Dover this morning. I have received a grumpy text from her about it but I haven't heard anything else about it.
Melanie made Caelyn and Nigel a quilt for their wedding. The prezzie is a bit late, but well worth it as it is gorgeous! She posted me one too and a handmade handbag. The postage was $88!!! That is a lot of money that she hasn't got PLUS the fabric wasn't cheap PLUS the work is perfect. She would have poured hours and hours into the project and she did this while struggling with ill health. Mel, your lovingkindness is very moving and greatly appreciated. We will always treasure those quilts because we will always "see" you in them.
Tonight is our regular Girls Night In but I don't know when I will be able to post about it as my computer is still broken. I am writing this at my mother's house. A young friend of hers, Tim, is coming to pick my computer up on Sunday afternoon. He is an expert and hopefully will be able to get us going again. I feel so cut off without my computer! Still, my Mum has been very kind in allowing me to use hers. She has to drive into Folkestone to pick me up then take me back later when I have finished. The days are dark, wet and cold now, so I don't really like asking her to do all that. It would be lovely if Tim was able to fix mine. We'll see.
