I have been worried sick about my Fuel Bills, but today I called the Company and I'm glad I did. As I am disabled, they have put me on an Energy Assist Tariff which will reduce my bills by 15%. Also, I gave them the meter reading and it knocked about £100 off my bill. They advised me to apply to the Fuel Trust to get a grant to help pay twords the arrears and to contact the DWP to arrange a Fuel Direct Payment by which the DWP will deduct money from me and pay it automatically to EDF. It will be £10.80pw for electricity - they can't give me the gas figure yet. If the Fuel Trust gives me a grant towards the arrears, the payment will reduce to £2.80pw for electricity.
It is such a relief! I have been dreading being disconnected with Winter approaching. The current combined bill (which was reduced with my own meter reading) was £538.77, which I had no way of paying.
Thank you, God, for your blessing and help.
