Another Outdoor Tale

We weren’t the only ones enjoying the great outdoors.

Caelyn, Nigel and Wendy went fishing in the Bethersden Lakes this weekend. On Saturday, Nigel taught Caelyn how to fish, and as luck would have it she caught a Bream and he caught nothing all day. Talk about Beginners Luck! It must have been demoralising for him.

On Sunday though, things changed. All the other fishermen were catching 8 pounders when Nigel caught a 15lb 1oz carp. It was a huge fish, bigger and heavier than Baby Wendy! Well done, Nigel!

He came to fetch me at the station when I got back from the Isle of Wight. In spite of factor 30 suncream, he was quite burnt. They were happy because they had had a good weekend.

Wendy of course wasn’t burnt because they had taken care to protect her with suncream and keeping her under a huge umbrella. Two days in the fresh air had tired her out though and she was very sleepy. She had a bath with her mother, helped by Auntie Michelle, before they went home. Michelle had been playing with her and Wendy loves Michelle and her games so she was happy and contented. Michelle seems to have a knack with small people.
