Cat Show
Nigel and Caelyn picked me up to go to the Siamese Cat Show in Westgate Hall, Canterbury. It was wonderful, seeing all those purrrrrrrfect Siamese people. I’ve decided that Cream Points are gorgeous, and I must have one. With a Tabby Point friend, and a Choccy and a Blue and a Red and a Lilac – and not forgetting a Seal, of course! For a ‘meezer addict, it was like being in Heaven itself.
The traffic in Canterbury was something else though, and parking was hard to find. We managed in the end though, but it was a little walk from the hall. Physically it was probably too much for me because I didn’t take the wheelchair. I conked out when we got home and slept for several hours, but now I’m awake, my body is really complaining, even though I took the precaution of staying in bed yesterday. I will do so again tomorrow so that I can cope in College on Monday.
One of the highlights of the show for Caelyn and me was meeting up with so many friends from the Siamese and Oriental Online Cat Club. We have been “talking” on the Internet for years. I have met them before at other cat shows, but Caelyn hadn’t and she especially enjoyed meeting Caryll. She was sorry not to have chatted to Flinx, but she loved Elaine’s little girl Cerys. It is nice to put a face to a name. And it was Nigel’s first exposure to Siamese in the fur, and he and Caelyn fell in love with a beautiful Chocolate Point girl.
We were especially proud of Tracey overcoming agarophobia to come to the show. She did remarkably well, and I was so pleased for her. Overcoming a deep seated fear is a great achievement.
All in all, it was a wonderful day.
