Auntie Squibbs died peacefully in her sleep early this morning. She had spent most of the past three months in hospital. She was so kind and thoughtful and many people will miss her very much. We always speak well of the dead even if they don't deserve it, but there aren't enough words to communicate what a wonderful woman she was. Sweet and saintly, full of fun, looking for ways to help others, generous and warm and prayerful.
She dressed dolls to sell for the poor. If she saw a bargain such as a bumper pack of socks or buy-one-get-one-free offers on tinned food or some such, she would, with her old age pension, buy it to donate to the homeless. Yet she was never ostentatious about it and kept her giving as discreet as possible. She had twinkly eyes, a prayerful spirit, a grateful heart, a sweet gentleness and a beaming smile.
Our loss is heaven's gain. May she rest in perfect Peace.
