Gentle Tenderness

Next week, Wendy will be 17 months old. She is an affectionate child who loves other children. The baby that my mum is holding is the daughter of one of Caelyn's school friends. Wendy showed a lot of concern for the baby. She has never had a bottle herself but she unpacked the nappy bag and brought out no less than 3 bottles for the baby.

I love seeing her response to other children. She seems to know intuitively that a baby is helpless and needs things done for them. She wants to help, and gets distressed when they cry.

Her tenderness is not only towards other children but also to animals. She pats and kisses the dog and takes him his toys, and she takes great delight in feeding the cats.

She is still at the wonderful, innocent age. She doesn't expect the world to hurt her because it has never happened to her before. Please, God, keep it that way as long as possible.
