This and That

Last night Sean took his office staff out for their Christmas Dinner at the Lisbon Antigua Restaurant in Hadlow, and they surpassed themselves.  They have a very high standard and the Patron is friendly – thee is a great atmosphere.  The evening went very well and we all enjoyed it.

It was terribly cold though, and I was caught in sharp sleet three times yesterday.  It is warmer today and it was snowing, and the snow is still lying on the ground.

I paid for my new spectacles and can pick them up on 9 Feb.  When I got home the cats told methat they were starving.  Michelle was still asleep, and the Beast had very little battery left, and I had left the charger at my mum’s house.  So I fed the cats and Brakkie and I caught a bus to Hythe.  I was so tired after walking from the bus stop that I conked out and slept for several hours.

When Caelyn and Nigel came they found they keys still in the door.  Nigel and I are going on a computer course in Ashford tomorrow.  Caelyn will have Nigel’s mobile as hers has died.  It is still under guarantee and the Carphone Warehouse have sent it away for repairs, and will give her a handset on loan on Monday.  She is leaking a fair bit of fluid still so she plans to have a day in bed tomorrow.  She isn’t too worried about the leaking because the doctors and midwives are keeping such a close eye on her, and everything seems to be progressing OK.

My mum is coming back tomorrow, and her little cat will be pleased to see her.  I will have to leave Brakkie here with Jenny while I am at College, so I hope he doesn’t howl for the sake of the old chap next door.

If the roads are icy tomorrow, I will not go to College as we still feel the effects of the accident the kids had in 1989. That was bad enough to make us look for ways of avoiding risk.  The kids still suffer from they effects of the injuries and my health was ruined after that accident too.  People do not appreciate just how long term the effects of such a catastrophic event can be.  One day I will try to write about it, but not now.  I need to get to bed – big day tomorrow.
