Caelyn’s Scan
Caelyn had another scan today, and is rather worried.
Things had been going so well, and she was so happy.
But now it seems as if Caelyn has lost another 8oz of fluid, and baby Wendy is under 2kg and is due to be born within a couple of weeks.
Some of the foetal measurements have decreased, but that makes me wonder if the scan is accurate because bone does not shrink. For instance, the biparietal diameter is less than it was at the last scan. How? I can understand losing fat, but surely a baby’s bone measurements can’t reduce?
The person who performed the scan said it was just as well Caelyn has an Antenatal checkup on Thursday, but she could not say anything else. I advised Caelyn to talk to the Midwives who have been seeing her at Buckland. I hope she does. Possibly a couple of weeks in hospital on strict bedrest might make a difference. Caelyn is very worried. I’ve given her the best advice I can, but any mother-to-be would worry about a baby’s development. The baby is lying awkwardly too, with her back to Caelyn’s back. That could mean a difficult delivery.
All we can do is pray, hope and love.
Make Wendy flourish and prosper and grow beautifully in her mother’s womb, Lord. Knit her together just as You dream.
Hear us Lord, and show us your mercy and love.
