For those of you who have asked me, at last I have finally remembered to post a picture of Melanie’s engagement ring, below. It is a Lavender Sapphire set in Platinum. (I hadn’t heard of a Lavender Sapphire either, but here it is)
Melanie phoned from New Zealand tonight, and it was lovely to talk to her. She is happily engaged to Peter. They had the boys for Christmas and Mike has got them now. It was good to hear from her. She was a bit envious of my having the original Camelot with Richard Harris and Vanessa Redgrave.
Sean had a terrible journey in the snow today, with huge tailbacks on the motorway. He came via Bedford as he wanted to see Sylvia and George, and it took him and Anselm 4 hours to get home. I am supposed to go up and see him tomorrow, but I won’t if the weather is still this bad. He is leaving for Vienna on 29th so if we don’t see each other tomorrow, it will be after he gets back in the New Year.
Caelyn is thrilled to bits with the maternity corduroy trousers Michelle got her for Christmas. She says they are soft and warm and very very comfortable.
Have aches, pains and tiredness now, so am off to bed with my Fat Cat.
It is really cold. It has been snowing all day. I went out and took some photos and to my surprise, it actually took pictures of snow as it was falling.
I was supposed to get a new second-hand Dyson delivered this evening, but of course Tony didn’t come – don’t blame him in this weather. It will be a DC04 and he will take my now defunct DC01 as a trade in for spare parts.
Tomorrow I make my last and final payment on the Beast, and it is a good feeling. If anyone who reads this Blog needs mobility equipment, I highly recommend Steve Wright at Fair Price Mobility. Their service is second to none, and they have a strong sense of ethics. And as Steve’s wife uses mobility equipment because of her Multiple Sclerosis, they really understand how much the equipment means to people who depend on it, so there is no messing about – ever. You can find them here: http://www.fairprice-mobility-scooters.co.uk/
I was badly ripped off by the company who sold me my first scooter and I later discovered that is the case for most first time buyers of mobility equipment. Some people are completely without conscience.
Sean and the kids went to see Margaret yesterday and are travelling back today. I hope they are safe – the roads look treacherous. I am really exhausted now, so am off to bed, hopefully with my Fat Cat who is a wonderful friend in winter.
